Son of Albert Thomas and Laura(nee Cooke)Ryan of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Brother of James, Wilbert, William, Joseph, Ronald, Margaret, Edith, Ruby and Elizabeth. Pte Ryan is commemorated on the Nova Scotia Korea War Memorial with his fellow Nova Scotians who lost their lives in the Korean War. The Memorial is located at Pleasant and Parade Streets in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. It was unveiled and dedicated in a ceremony on 16 August 2003.
Also commemorated on the Wall of Remembrance.
