The Jewish War Veterans of Canada, Toronto Post, erected and dedicated the Flames of Memory memorial at the Remembrance Day Service, November 11, 2013. This Memorial commemorates and honours the many Jewish men and women who served during the First and Second World Wars, Korean War, and many other peace keeping missions including Afghanistan and Israel.
The names of the 570 Jewish men and women who served in the Canadian Forces and died in battle are listed on the front side. On the other side of the monument is a partial list of those who fought and fortunately returned home.
Funds for this memorial were raised through veteran, corporate and the Community War Memorial Program donations.
