Le cénotaphe de Kimberley et le parc commémoratif des vétérans de Kimberley ont été inaugurés le 8 juillet 2017. Military Ames, un groupe de vétérans, s’est rendu compte que l'ancien cénotaphe devait être remplacé, car il s’effritait et de la mousse y poussait. Les membres du groupe ont approché la ville de Kimberley au sujet d’un terrain vague au centre-ville, présenté leurs plans pour un parc commémoratif et un cénotaphe, et la ville leur a dédié le terrain. Military Ames a reçu plusieurs subventions et de l’aide, notamment de la Kimberley District Heritage Society, pour construire le parc. Le monument commémoratif souligne la participation du Canada aux guerres mondiales et ses efforts de maintien de la paix et il rend hommage aux vétérans de la guerre du Vietnam.
Le parc comprend aussi des murs commémoratifs.
