Location:

Cuinchy is a village in the Department of the Pas-de-Calais about 7 Kilometres east of the town of Bethune and north of the N41 which runs between Bethune and La Bassee. About 1 kilometre north-west of the village are cross roads known as Windy Corner and GUARDS CEMETERY (CUINCHY) is a little west of these cross roads.

  • Circumstances of death registers– Source: Library and Archives Canada. CIRCUMSTANCES OF DEATH REGISTERS, FIRST WORLD WAR. Surnames: Duane to Dzhobiewski. Microform Sequence 30; Volume Number 31829_B016739. Reference RG150, 1992-93/314, 174. Page 609 of 1062. His grave was located near Indian Village, Festubert, 2 ¼ miles West of La Bassee. Subsequently his body was exhumed and buried in GUARDS CEMETERY (CUINCHY).
