  • Photo of FREDERICK ALONZO WELDON– Private Frederick A. Weldon, 1879-1917, #220530, CEF 80th Battalion, Ottawa, ON. taken in 1916. Killed in action in France, July 29, 1917 with the 54 Battalion, Kamloops, BC. This photo card was found with photos of the Berry family of Ottawa, was he a friend/co-worker... according to attestation papers Private Weldon was an office clerk presumably in one of the many business and government offices in Ottawa. His address was 92 Gloucester Street. Next of kin, father Wm. Wesley Weldon, Upper Greenwich, Kings Cty. NB. One hundred years later, we could find no connection to our family but felt his service could not go unrecognized so have uploaded his photo to this database. Fortunately his service no was noted on the back.
