Calendar of events help

This tool allows you to enter and edit all information regarding commemorative events that are taking place in your region.

Just some tips to get you started:

Unpublished:
“Unpublished” means that the information only appears on the staging site and is not available to the public.
Published:
“Published” means that it is posted on the VAC Internet site and the general public may view it.
Event name:
Please enter a short title for the event that will appear on the calendar of events. (e.g., Veterans’ Parade).
Type of event:
Please select the type of event that will be taking place (e.g. Wreath Laying Ceremony).
Event web site:
Please provide any alternate Web site address where the public may obtain additional information (e.g., ontarioremembers.ca).
Event details:
Please enter all details such as ‘by invitation only’, parking constraints, special instructions for line-ups, etc., and any extra details the public should be aware of. A maximum of 500 characters is allowed for the event details field.
Place - building and/or location:
Please enter the place where the event is happening (e.g., Queen's Square, WWII Cenotaph, corner of Queen and King streets).
Event address:
Please provide the proper street address (e.g., 29 Queen Street South).
Country:
Please select the country where the event will be taking place (e.g., Canada, Belgium).
City:
Please enter the city where the event will be taking place (e.g., Ottawa, Charlottetown, Edmonton).
Province:
Please select the province where the event will be taking place (e.g., Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia).
Start and end date:
Select the start date using the calendar icon. If it is a one-day event, there is no need to enter the end date as the system will automatically populate this field. If the event is more than one day you need to enter the end date otherwise the system will automatically populate the end date as being the same as the start date.
Event start and end time:
Please enter the time based on the 24-hour clock, also known as military time (e.g. use 16:30 instead of 4:30 p.m.).
Contact name:
Please provide the name of an individual who will be able to provide the public at large with additional information concerning this event. This individual may be a community partner, a volunteer, or a Veterans Affairs Canada employee.
Contact phone:
Please provide the phone number, including the area code, of an individual who will be able to provide the public at large with additional information concerning this event. This individual may be a community partner, a volunteer, or a Veterans Affairs Canada employee.
Contact e-Mail:
Please provide the e-mail address of an individual who will be able to provide the public at large with additional information concerning this event. This individual may be a community partner, a volunteer, or a Veterans Affairs Canada employee.
Security question:
Please enter 4 for the security question "2 + 2 =".
