Burial/memorial information

Grave reference: III. B. 5.
Additional information
Son of Cyrille Larocque and Mathilda Lavigne, of Montreal, Québec. He had declared to be born on March 13th, 1896 at the time of his enlistment and he had given his own first name as that of his father and closest relative.

Imitating his older brother Napoleon, he had given false information to cover his tracks in case he changed his mind along the way; a common practice at the time. Napoleon had enlisted a month earlier (regimental number 62075) as ""Joseph Lavigne"", his mother's surname, and deserted just before the unit embarked for England. Rodolphe, on the other hand, honored his commitment to the ultimate sacrifice. He was killed in action by a bullet to the abdomen while on a task force.
