Thelus is a village about 6.5 kilometres north of Arras and 1 kilometre east of the main road from Arras to Lens. The NINE ELMS MILITARY CEMETERY is on the western side of the main road and about 1.5 kilometres south of the village.

  • Photo of Wallace Scott McCullough– (From Stanstead College Yearbook, July 1919) Wallace Scott McCullough, enlisted as a Private with the 117th Battalion and went overseas in August 1916. He was held in England until Jan. 1917. He was promoted to sergeant in the 117th, but with thirteen other non commissioned officers he reverted to private and joined the 24th Battalion in France. He soon regained his promotion in France however. Sergeant McCullough was killed in action at Vimy Ridge on April 9th 1917.
