Photo of William Young – This image shows my grandmother's brother, William Young and his daughter Doris in Victoria B C prior to his leaving for the war. William's parents of Lichfield had eight children(four boys & four girls). William was the eldest followed by Richard who remained in the Lichfield area all his life. Ada Porter(nee Young) William's sister and my grandmother emigrated with her sister Sara Carpenter(nee Young) to Victoria, B C in 1912. William's other two sisters Emily Gallimore(nee Young) and Harriet May Cooper(nee Young) remained in the Lichfield area all their lives. William's remaining two brothers, Frank, lived in London for his entire life while his youngest brother, Arthur, came to British Columbia with his two sisters, Ada & Sarah in 1912

Post Card – This postcard was sent to my grandmother, Ada Porter(nee Young) by her brother, Frank Young from London sometime in the 1920's letting her know that their brother, William Young, has his name on the Lichfield WWI war memorial.

Post Card – The reverse side of this postcard shows a hand written note from William Young to his sister in Victoria, B C before his death during WWI. William and his family were living very close to my grandmother's family in Victoria as one can see from his war record address and comparing it with the one on the postcard addressed to my grandmother, Ada Porter(nee Young).
