Son of Thomas and Anna Nichol, of Bateman, Saskatchewan. The province of Saskatchewan honoured Flying Officer Nichol by naming Nichol Island in northern Saskatchewan in his honour.

EL ALIA Cemetery lies 13 kilometres south-east of Algiers on the road to El Harrash and is situated within a large civilian cemetery. The cemetery gates are never locked and access is available at all times. It is regretted that it is not possible to keep a copy of the register in this cemetery. Assistance may be obtained from staff when they are present and a copy of the register is available for consultation in the toolshed.
