Location:

Leubringhen is a village in the Department of the Pas-de-Calais, halfway between Calais and Boulogne. The Calais Canadian War Cemetery is in Leubringhen and is situated on the east side of the Calais-Boulogne road, 14 kilometres from Calais. From Calais leave the motorway at junction 9 and turn left onto the N3-E402 toward St Inglevert. Proceed through the village and immediately after, turn first left over motorway bridge and follow the road for approximately 250 metres. The Calais Canadian War Cemetery will be found on the left.

Educated at Victoria, B.C.  Entered the service of the Bank 2nd July, 1930.  Served at Victoria, Adelaide & Yonge (Toronto), Rideau St. Ottawa) and other branches in Ontario. Gazetted Lieutenant in The ameron Highlanders of Ottawa (M.G.) 20th November, 1939.  Captain in June, 1942; Major in May, 1943. Overseas to Iceland in July, 1940; United Kingdom in June, 1941.  Served as Intelligence and Liaison Officer. Landed in France 6th June, 1944.  Transferred to The North Shore (New Brunswick) Regiment as Second in Command 28th August, 1944.  Mentioned in Despatches in recognition of Gallant and Distinguished Services (June, 1944) (Canada Gazette, 3rd February, 1945) Killed in action in France 26th September, 1944. Buried in Calais Military Cemetery, St. Inglevert, France.  Major Carson was a nephew of Mr. B. P. Alley, formerly an Assistant General Manager of this Bank.
