Frederikshavn is an important port about 32 kilometres from the northernmost point of Denmark. The FREDERIKSHAVN CEMETERY is on the northern outskirts of the town on the road to Skagen.

Hudson aircraft of RAF 608 Sqn Coastal Command crashed near Skjern.
South of Skjern it dropped two bombs which fell between the railroad track and the main road without exploding. Apparently AM715 struck a telephone pole at 14:41 hours and crashed into the ground.
Pilot F/Sgt Russel H.MacMillan RCAF and Pilot F/Sgt George N.Fullerton were killed by the crash while W/Op¿Air Gnr. Sgt John Short and Wop/Air Gnr. Sgt. Francis G. Simmonds were brought to Skjern hospital, both badly wounded. Short perished shortly after arrival while Simmonds died at 09:00 hours the following day. The whole crew were laid to rest in Frederikshavn cemetery on 28/11 1941.
