Son of Hugh John Cassidy and Kathleern Ryan, stepson of Norah Beatrice Pavey, of St. Thomas, Ontario.
He served as private with the 2nd Elgins Regiment – NPAM – under NRMA 1940, service number A-420839, from October 9 to November 7, 1940, during a training session at camp number 11.
He had service in Canada and in Great Britain. He had 416 days of service, including 133 days overseas. He was killed when his Spitfire collided midair with another plane.
