F/Sgt. Gerald Edward Wagner, age 19, was killed on December 20, 1942, when his 405 Squadron Wellington (W7768) crashed at Calbourne Low, Isle of Wight, while returning from a mine-laying operation off Brest. There were no survivors and F/Sgt. Wagner, and other crew members, including his skipper, WO2 Lloyd Snarr, of Moncton, N.B., are buried in the St. John Churchyard, Boldre, Hampshire, England.
