He was a soldier for the Oxford Rifles Regiment - NPAM - in Ingersoll, Ontario, from 1940 to June 1941 and then joined the Royal Canadian Air Force.
He served in Canada and Great Britain.

Uden is a town on the main road between Eindhoven and Nijmegen. The Uden War Cemetery is 350 metres from the centre of the town, on the Nijmegen road at its junction with the road to Zeeland. The cemetery is also signposted on the N265 Uden-Eindhoven.
