Burial/memorial information
Enlisted in the 178th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, he was first transferred to the 150th Battalion on 9 September 1916, then, in England, to the 22nd Battalion. He set foot in France on 28 February 1918 and went to the front line on 14 March. He was killed in action on 27 August 1918 by German machine-gun fire during the Battle of Chérisy in France.
