Baptized Joseph-Arthur-Alonzo Gingras. Son of Charles Gingras and Marie-Anne Dussault, of Montréal, Québec.
Married to Flora Déziel in 1912, from Montreal, he had a son in 1915 and left for the war in 1916. His wife survived him only four months in 1918. His old parents, as well as his sister Élionilia "Lilas", then took charge of the orphan son and settled for a time in Shawinigan Falls, in Mauricie.

Take the D38 from Cherisy to Hendecourt. Approximately 2 kilometres from Cherisy turn left just before Sun Quarry Cemetery onto a dirt track. Continue for 1 kilometre before turning left to arrive at Quebec Cemetery.
