His full name is Thomas Nicholas French.
Son of James Henry French and Susanna Nicholas, of Harbour Grace, Newfoundland.
Thomas was a soldier in the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and Forestry Corps, regimental number 4401, in the First World War. There is no evidence that he saw action in Europe. He drowned at Eccles, Manchester, England.
