Liberation of the Netherlands
September 1944 to May 5, 1945

The First Canadian Army fought German forces
throughout the Netherlands until the German Army
surrendered at the end of WWII.

Canada brougth freedom and relief to this battered
and starving nation after a harsh 5 years occupation.
More than 7,600 Canadian soldiers, sailors
and airmen died fighting in the Netherlands.

The Dutch people faithfully Remember
and care for the graves of our Fallen.
