A plaque dedicated to Canadian National Railway employees of the Ottawa region who gave their lives in the service to their country was unveiled at Union Station on Sunday 8 November 1953. It was erected by the Ottawa Branch, Canadian National Railway War Veterans’ Association.

When the terminal moved from Union Station to the new Ottawa Station at 200 Tremblay Road in 1966, the plaque moved too. It is now on a wall near the southeast corner of the main hall and beneath it is another plaque with the French translation.
