Six ministerial advisory groups have been created to improve transparency and seek consultation on issues of importance to Veterans and their families.
Each advisory group has a chairperson appointed by the membership from among the members and a senior departmental official from Veterans Affairs Canada co-chairs. A representative of the Office of the Veterans Ombudsman is invited to attend Advisory Group meetings as an observer.
In 2022, following an open and transparent application process, new members were appointed by the Minister of Veterans Affairs to fill vacant positions.
