Section 1: Overview of the Departmental Sustainable Development Strategy

The 2019 to 2022 Federal Sustainable Development Strategy (FSDS) presents the Government of Canada’s sustainable development goals and targets, as required by the Act. This approach makes environmental decision-making more transparent and accountable to Parliament. VAC’s 2020-2023 Departmental Sustainable Development Strategy (DSDS) sets out the activities the Department will undertake to support the goals laid out in the FSDS.
