Mitch Freeman

Mitch started his career with the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) in 1998 as a Computer Network Technologist and transitioned to Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) in the winter of 2001.  Since that time Mitch has held various positions at VAC, such as the Chief Information Officer from 2013 to 2020, Chief Data Officer, and Director General of Service Delivery and Program Management. Mitch has most recently served as Director General Policy and Research where he was responsible for the evolution of Veteran policy and supporting research.

Mitch is also an avid volunteer within the Kin Canada organization and recently finished a four-year term on the National Board of Directors.  He has also held various local positions including the role of Governor for Atlantic Canada.  When Mitch is not at work or volunteering, he is a dedicated father of two young daughters and enjoys both summer and winter sports.
