A Veteran of the Canadian Air Force, Mr. Pearn provides Veterans and widows with transportation to medical appointments, and he also assists them with their Income Tax returns. A member of the Royal Canadian Legion (RCL), he has held several senior positions at the Miscouche Legion. Mr. Pearn was presented with the RCL's Life Membership in recognition of his life-long devotion to Veterans. He has devoted much effort to ensure that the memory of the sacrifice and contributions of Canadian Veterans are never forgotten. Mr. Pearn painted large portraits of each VC winner and had them displayed at the local Branch. He organized and staffed an information booth to help promote the Juno Beach Centre and the fund-raising campaign of the Wal-Mart chain. Mr. Pearn is a recipient of the Royal Canadian Legion's Meritorious Service Medal and Palm Leaf, the Senate of Canada Volunteer Medal, the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal and the St. John's Ambulance Advocacy Award.
