Mrs. Bianchini Purvis co-founded the No Stone Left Alone Memorial Foundation in recognition of the sacrifice of the Canadian men and women who have lost their lives in the service of peace, at home and abroad. Mrs. Bianchini Purvis was inspired by her own deceased parents, who both served for Canada during the Second World War, as well as her daughter, Mrs. Keely Yates, who as a young child, had a big idea. After placing a poppy on her grandparents’ headstones every Remembrance Day, she couldn’t help but notice that many soldiers’ headstones were without a poppy year after year. The No Stone Left Alone Memorial Foundation is a non-profit organization working with the Canadian Armed Forces and Alberta Education to help raise funds for Canadian Veterans and their families. The goal of the Foundation is to educate, act, and honour all soldiers in November with the symbol of remembrance, “the poppy.” The Foundation’s vision is to expand this initiative nationally.
