Shaun Francis

Mr. Shaun Francis is the Chair of the True Patriot Love Foundation, which he founded to benefit Canada’s military families. Through generous donations from individuals and corporations, True Patriot Love has raised more than $16 million to fund programs to support the physical, mental and social well-being of members of the Canadian Armed Forces, Veterans and their families. In 2012 and 2014, Mr. Francis co-led expeditions to Everest Base Camp, the summit of Island Peak and the Magnetic North Pole, to raise funds and awareness of the Foundation.

In 2011, Mr. Francis was the Convocation speaker at the Royal Military College, in Kingston, where he received an honourary Doctor of Laws. In 2010, Mr. Francis was awarded the Canadian Forces Medallion for Distinguished Service—the military’s highest recognition for a civilian.

Mr. Francis holds a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He also earned a Bachelor of Science with Honours and Merit and a commission as a second lieutenant in the Canadian Army from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, which he attended as a Canadian nominated by President Reagan.
