This tablet was erected in honour of Major Atwood MacKay who died in the First World War. It was placed in the Valleyfield Presbyterian Church by his parents. The Valleyfield Presbyterian Church became Valleyfield United Church in 1925, and the building was moved to Montague in 1971, when it merged with Trinity United, Montague, and was renamed Hillcrest United Church.
