This memorial commemorates the relationship between the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery and the Halifax Garrison of the Royal Artillery from 1749 to 1905. It was erected by the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery.

HAS ERECTED THIS TABLE TO COMMEMORATE
THE LONG ASSOCIATION WITH THE
HALIFAX GARRISON OF THE ROYAL ARTILLERY
FROM 1749 TO 1905
AND THE CANADIAN ARTILLERY FROM 1869
INCLUDING UNITS OF
FIELD, HEAVY, COAST AND ANTI-AIRCRAFT,
THE CITADEL, ROYAL ARTILLERY PARK,
ARTILLERY FORTS AND STATIONS OF THE
HALIFAX FORTRESS PROTECTED THE
LAND, SEA AND AIR APPROACHES
TO EASTERN CANADA DURING
PERIODS OF NATIONAL EMERGENCY.
