This memorial is dedicated to the remembrance of those Korean War Veterans who died during the Korean War. It is a gazebo, designed with a blue, Korean pagoda roof. It was created by the local Korean community and the Korean War Veterans. The grand opening was held in July 27, 2006. Dignitaries representing the Province of Nova Scotia, the Mayor of the Halifax Regional Municipality, the Ambassador of South Korea, and officers representing the Canadian military. The Stadacona Band was in attendance, dancers from the South Korean community performed, watched by hundreds of spectators.

The gazebo is within a dedicated three-acre park and garden designed by a recognized landscape architect for the Halifax Regional Municipality and consists of various unique areas such as the Walk of Peace, which consists of individually hand-made stones by school students and citizens, including one veteran. The Circle of Life, created by a local artisan, was made by various citizens who assisted in the creation of the circle. Within the garden there is also a pergola, a Tai Chi garden, a 200 foot long rhododendron garden, contributed and planted by the Rhododendron Society, a rose garden, and a children's playground.

The Korean Community fundraised throughout Canada, the USA, and South Korea, collecting approximately $90,000. These funds were used to pay for the pagoda, as well as the furniture, plants, gardens, an engraved "donor" stone that lists those who made major contributions to the memorial. Individual trees were donated by members of the Korean community, the local high school, and individual veterans or family members.

The "official" Korea War Memorial stone is located next to the pagoda within a garden that is surrounded with the "Rose of Sharon" - the national flower of Korea, and other shrubbery with the flags of Canada and South Korea standing inside the garden.

Each year, a Remembrance Day Ceremony is held at the Memorial, with a large attendance of approximately 600 people.
