The Carleton Village Cenotaph was constructed in 1988 in memory of all who served in the First and Second World Wars from Gunning Cove, Carleton Village and McNatts Island. The monument, located in St. Paul's United Church cemetery, was designed and constructed by Enos. O. Demings at his own expense and he provides the upkeep and maintenance. The dedication ceremony was held on Nov. 26th, 1988, with the Clergy of the Church and members of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 63 in attendance. Every November there is a wreath laying ceremony held by the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 63 with Public attendance.
