The original local cenotaph was in the form of a cairn with a metal plaque erected in the Community Hall in 1954 by the Clementsport Community Club and Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 122. In 1980 the plaque was removed and incorporated into this stele.

SERVED AND IN MEMORY
OF THOSE WHO DIED

"AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN AND IN THE
MORNING WE WILL REMEMBER THEM."

THIS PLAQUE WAS ORIGINALLY SET
IN A CAIRN AT THE COMMUNITY HALL
IN 1954 BY THE CLEMENTSPORT
COMMUNITY CLUB AND THE CLEMENTSPORT
BRANCH # 122, ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION
AND WAS RELOCATED HERE IN 1980.
