The Kemptville War Memorial was erected on June 20, 1920 in memory of the men from Kemptville who lost their lives during the First World War. The Cenotaph was erected by the Kemptville Women's Institute. Originally the cenotaph was erected in memory of four men who died during the First World War from the community of Kemptville. The Cenotaph is positioned such that the side the person's name is on is facing their home in the community.
