Erected by the local community, this memorial is dedicated to local veterans. It was erected in 1978 as a tribute to the Canadian women and men who participated in the wars. It is located in the National Unity Park and honours those who gave their lives to defend the unity of Canada. After the construction of the monument, the mayor and city council of Ste-Anne-de-Madawaska have undertaken to maintain it.
