It is not known when the memorial was built, but it stands on property belonging to the town, next to the fire station and the Town Hall. It was relocated from its original site across the street from the Royal Canadian Legion in 1975. The town's records were lost in a fire in 1954 therefore more information is not available. A plaque lists the names of those servicemen who lost their lives overseas during the First and Second World Wars. A plaque honouring Korean War Veterans was added.
