This memorial was erected by the Royal Canadian Legion in 1946 in memory of those who served in the First and Second World Wars. When the new memorial was built, the inscribed stone from the front of the old memorial was removed and placed in front of the new memorial. Inscriptions for the Korean War and Afghanistan were also added.
