Liberation 75 Tulips were imported from Holland and marked the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, more specifically the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands by Canadian troops. The 750 orange tulips were donated in 2019 by local landscape architect Paul Brydges in memory of his grandfather Roy H. Moon, who landed on the beach in Normandy on D-Day, and who was wounded during the liberation of Holland and spent two years in a hospital recovering upon returning home.
A Vimy Oak that grows behind the Guelph War Memorial was also donated by the Brydges family in memory of their great-uncle Norman Brydges, who died in France shortly after the battle of Vimy Ridge.
