This memorial was established after the First World War. Plaques to commemorate those lost in the Second World War and Korean War were added later. The memorial is in a section of the park known as the Memorial Arboretum, which was the former site of Hagersville Public School.

On top of the memorial is an eternal light to remind of us our promise to never forget the sacrifice of those who gave their lives for our freedom.
