This memorial was erected in 1994 by the Township of Wolfe Island and is dedicated to past and present members of the Armed Forces who at one time lived in the Township of Wolfe Island (members of the community who served in the Armed Forces, including the Merchant Navy and those who continue to serve).

The Township of Wolfe Island amalgamated in 1998 with the Township of Howe Island to form the Township of Frontenac Islands.

ON BEHALF OF ALL ISLAND RESIDENTS,
WISH TO PAY TRIBUTE TO THE MEN AND
WOMEN OF THIS COMMUNITY WHO
ANSWERED THE CALL OF THEIR COUNTRY
TO HELP PRESERVE THE PEACE AND
FREEDOM WE NOW ENJOY. SOME PAID
THE SUPREME SACRIFICE, SOME SUFFERED
SEVERE WOUNDS AND HARDSHIPS. OTHERS
CONTINUED TO SERVE, AND STILL DO, IN
THE ARMED FORCES OF CANADA.
