This street is named in memory of Sapper Frederick Earl Vallas. 

Frederick Earl Vallas was born on 1st June 1920 in London ON. He attended Chesley Avenue School and Sir Adam Beck Collegiate before enrolling in the military. Sapper Vallas served in England and France with the 1st Field Survey Company, Royal Canadian Engineers, and was killed in action at Caen, France on 8th August 1944, in the opening days of OPERATION TOTALIZE. Sapper Frederick Earl Vallas is buried at Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian War Cemetery, 16 kilometers south of Caen.
