Hallman’s painting The Ploughman hung in the senior room of the Lobo Continuation School. It had a brass plaque with the following names: Private Norman G Pearce who lost his life in Canada in 1942, Flight Sergeant Russel C Zavitz who was killed in Germany in 1943, and Captain Alexander Stewart who died in France in 1944.

The school closed and it is not known what happened to the painting.
