This plaque was unveiled in honour of the 154th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force, and in memory of the 146 members who died in the First World War. 

The 154th Battalion was raised in the counties of Stormant, Dundas and Glengarry, near Cornwall Ontario. It embarked for England on 16 October 1916, arriving in the UK later that month. It was disbanded a few months later after its members were tranferred to other battalions as reinforcements. The Stormant, Dundas and Glengarry Highlanders perpetuate the 154th Battalion.

ERECTED IN HONOUR OF THE 154TH BATTALION C.E.F.
AND IN GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THE 146 MEMBERS WHO
PAID THE SUPREME SACRIFICE IN WORLD WAR I.
AUTHORIZED TO BE RAISED IN THE COUNTIES OF STORMONT,
DUNDAS AND GLENGARRY 1 DEC 1915, IT EMBARKED FOR
ENGLAND 16 OCT 1916 WHERE IT WAS DISBANDED 30 JAN
1917 TO FURNISH REINFORCEMENTS FOR OTHER BATTALIONS
OF THE EASTERN ONTARIO REGIMENTS IN THE FIELD.
