This plaque is dedicated to all members of the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Highlanders who died during the Second World War. 

The Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Highlanders raised two battalions during the Second World War. The 1st Battalion was mobilized in May 1940, took part in the Normandy landings, operations throughout North West Europe, and was disbanded in January 1946. The 3rd Battalion, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Highlanders, was mobilized on 1 June 1945 for service with the Canadian Army Occupation Force in Germany, and was disbanded on 24 May 1946.

This memorial is dedicated to all members of the Regiment, 1st and 3rd Battalions, who died during the Second World War and is distinct from the 1st Battalion, Stormont Dundas and Glengarry Second World War Plaque.
