This memorial is dedicated to the parishioners of a church who gave their lives in the First World War. It was erected by the parishioners of First Presbyterian Church.

It has been ascertained that the plaque came from First Presbyterian Church that went defunct in 1925, after the formation of the United Church. The plaque has been left in the care of the Thunder Bay Military Museum.
