This kedge anchor was obtained from the Canadian Maritime Museum in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It was used mainly as a secondary anchor to help manoeuvre large ships into and out of confined areas in seaports. Ships of the Royal Canadian Navy in the Second World War used these types of anchors.
