On September 9, 1923, a window on the west transept of Metropolitan Church was dedicated by Reverend Dr. G.H. Williams to the 36 members of the church who died in the First World War. It was unveiled by Lieutenant-Colonel A.H. Borden, DSO.

The window depicts David and the Mighty Men - King David, angels, soldiers, Dominion Coat of Arms and the Royal Coat of Arms. It was constructed by R. McCausland.

Metropolitan Methodist Church, known as the "Cathedral of Methodism" in Toronto, traces its roots to 1818. In 1925, it entered the United Church of Canada as Metropolitan United Church.
