An oak lectern was placed in the Chancel Guild at St. Mary the Virgin, 36 Westmoreland Avenue and dedicated to Lieutenant Alexander Douglas Kirkpatrick of the 3rd Battalion, Captain George Massey Williamson of the 14th Battalion, and Private Samuel Lewis of Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. Lieutenant Kirkpatrick and Captain Williamson were killed in action on April 24 and 25, respectively. Private Lewis was killed in action on May 4, 1915.

The first St. Mary the Virgin, was located on the north-west corner of Bloor and Delaware until 1914, when a new building was erected on Westmoreland. In 1966, the amalgamated with St. Cyprian’s, Manning Avenue and formed St. Mary the Virgin & St. Cyprian’s which closed in 2002.
