Hanging in St. Matthew's sanctuary are three memorials that are not identified by a church name. They are believed to be from Oakwood Methodist Church which joined St. Matthew's United Church in 1975. This plaque is dedicated to those from the church who died in the First World War.

In 1917, Oakwood Methodist Church was established. It entered the United Church of Canada as Oakwood United Church in 1925. In 1961, Dufferin United Church (formerly Dufferin Methodist Church) merged with Oakwood United Church and in 1975, Oakwood United Church merged with St. Matthew's United Church.
