This memorial was erected around 1922 and is constructed of stones from the surrounding countryside fasted by cement with marble plaques. On the east side are listed the ten young men from Divisions 1 and 4 of the First World War who made the supreme sacrifice. The west side remembers the five who died in the Second World War. It was constructed due to the initiative of First World War veterans, and spearheaded by Jack Harrington and J.B. Stohr. Memorial services have been held at the site very November 11th since its construction. In the early years there was a full military service with Mr. George Currell, bugler, playing Taps and Reveille. As time passed the service became one of prayer and the laying of wreaths. Now the service broadcast by the CBC is viewed and the laying of wreaths on behalf of the Community, the Village and the Recreation Board are conducted. Even though the community is small, there are still at least twenty people in attendance at the services.
