Erected by Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 49 in 1958 on land acquired from Canadian National Railways, this memorial is dedicated to the local war dead of the First and Second World Wars. The construction was promoted by V. Mew and sponsored by the local branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. The foundation was laid by Ross Atkins and the monument was constructed of field stone from the local area and split on the site. The Unveiling was in 1958. The site is maintained by the Chauvin Branch, Royal Canadian Legion.
