On 23 May 2007, Munro Lake and a cairn were dedicated to Lieutenant Campbell Stuart Munro. Lieutenant Munro joined the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry in Italy during the summer of 1943. He served 27 August 1943 to 23 November 1943 when he was seconded to the 2nd Canadian Infantry Brigade Headquarters. He was killed in action on 16 December 1943, during the crossing of the Moro River in Italy, in the Battle of Ortona. Lieutenant Munro is buried in the Moro River Canadian War Cemetery in Italy.
